By Patrick Foster , Media Correspondent. The BBC Trust said that young audiences were increasingly watching television online, as it gave the green light for the channel to be moved onto the BBC iPlayer at the end of January. These new programmes would not be restricted to late-night viewing, but are likely to be aired at a variety of times across the schedule. The Trust said that it would review the effect of the move on young audiences over the next 18 months, and could impose additional quotas for teen programming, "if it considers that performance against the conditions has been unsatisfactory". The BBC must adapt with its audiences; the evidence is very clear that younger audiences are watching more online and less linear TV. Damian Kavanagh, the controller of BBC Three, said that more than half of all video content watched by year olds is no longer in the form of live television, and that the plans spelt "exciting times for BBC Three".
It was launched on 16 February as a replacement for the linear BBC Three television channel , which was discontinued the same day. The service produces and streams television and web series aimed at the demographic of 16 to year-olds, with a particular focus on comedy and documentary programming. The replacement of BBC Three's television service with a digital platform came as the result of budget cuts at the broadcaster, stemming from Director-General Tony Hall 's goal to not perform general cuts across the BBC that would compromise the quality of its programme output, and an acknowledgement of a shift in viewing habits among the service's demographic towards online video services as opposed to linear television channels. Likewise, BBC Three staff argued that the service would no longer be bound to the limitations of linear television, enabling producers to have a larger degree of flexibility in the programme content they can create for BBC Three. BBC Three content is primarily streamed on BBC iPlayer , while the service's other content, including web series and other materials, are also distributed through presences on social networks. Believing that general budget cuts across the entire corporation would compromise the quality of its in-house productions—especially dramas , which he described as being the "essence" of the BBC—Hall stated that these cuts could require "hard decisions" to be made. He explained that the corporation had "reached the point where salami-slicing would affect quality and distinctiveness. Rather than seek to preserve a less good version of our past, we decided to focus on what we do best:
The BBC Three programme involves getting two exes together for a dinner date , and extras are also required to fill-in the restaurant during the filming. You will be leaving the restaurant around 5pm.
But that didn't stop three Jewish twentysomethings taking the dramatic step of looking for love in full view of millions of TV viewers. Just One Night sets up lovers with their 'ideal match on paper' to help them decide whether they want to stick with their current partner, or cut loose. In the first episode we meet Bonnie, 22, and Stevie, 23, of north London , who have hit a crossroads in their four-year relationship, after meeting on Tinder. Bonnie is keen for them to take the next step and move in together, but Stevie has reservations, admitting he's scared about there being 'no going back'. Bonnie, 22, and Stevie, 23, of north London, have hit a crossroads in their four-year relationship, after meeting on Tinder. He explains: His doubts make Bonnie feel insecure, and she says she's 'not prepared to keep wasting my time' if Stevie's heart isn't in it. Deciding it's 'make or break', the couple sign up to go on a date with someone else to assess the state of their relationship. Stevie is paired with 'bit of a sort' Shannon, 23, from Gloucestershire, who has been single for eight months, while Bonnie is paired up with year-old Moses, who's been single a year.
