World of tanks tier matchmaking

Wargaming announced the update that will fix many issues players were experiencing in World of Tanks. The changes are focused on some vehicle rebalances and matchmaker improvements. While Wargaming was trying to fix some issues in World of Tanks since May, the problems continued to persist. That update will be active soon to see if this is the final fix the game requires.

Matchmaking Tier 8.0

Jump to content. Percentage of vote: A way to solve matchmaking problems with stock tanks being easily annihilated by enemies 2 tiers higher. Light tanks except Crusader: Medium tanks and Crusader: Heavy tanks: This simple idea introduces preferential matchmaking for all tanks, not just premiums - depending on what gun they are using. Pick a low tier gun, and you avoid high tier games. For example, I don't want to fight Tier 10 enemies in my Ferdinand.

With this gun matchmaking idea, as long as I don't use the top Tier X 12,8 cm gun, I won't have to - I will only be in Tier 9 matches at the most. V gun, I won't have to, I will only be in Tier 6 matches at the most. Some tanks will benefit from this idea more than others. For example, the VK Harassing the enemy top tiers is very difficult if you can't penetrate them with your stock gun.

Especially for heavies and TDs which don't have the mobility to flank quickly. Which is why mediums can cope better with low-tier, low-penetration guns. Because it only has a Tier 6 gun, not suitable for taking on Tier 9 enemies even in a fast medium. Because it only has a Tier 8 gun, not suitable for taking on Tier 10 enemies. So I thought, why not have that system for all tanks, not just premiums. Then people could 'create their own preferential matchmaking' with their own tanks, according to what gun they select to use.

Premium tanks exist mainly for grinding credits - preferential matchmaking for those with low-penetration guns is just a side effect of being stuck with just one gun, not really a benefit. Good point. Obviously, though, the Patton is a Tier 9 tank. You can't get into a lower tier match than the tier of the tank you are driving. If the tank is Tier 9, then the match must be at least Tier 9, otherwise you wouldn't be able to get into any match at all.

Personally I think the Tier 5 derp gun should be removed from the Patton. It's a pathetic gun for a Tier 9 to be using. No, very very no. ISU drivers would only see tier 10 battles: Great idea. Legion clan member. Wear it with pride. I like the sound of that. Although the 76mm S gun should probably be raised to Tier 6. SU with mm howitzer would always be top tier, Tier 7 matches. I like the sound of that even more, constant derping of Tier 5 and 6 enemies, pure bliss.

So SUY would only face Tier 8 max. That's the maximum limit, not the minimum. Oh, and many players, myself included, don't have enough free XP to research the BL gun as soon as we purchase the tank, so have to use the lower tier guns for a long time. Whilst I can appreciate the reasoning of the proposal my concern is that part of the grinding process is that you improve with the tank.

So it would dissuade people from upgrading. Possibly true. People might choose to stick with a crap gun to get preferential matchmaking. Premium ammo offers a way to get good penetration out of crap guns. You have been a strong advocate of up gunning the Valentine. Suppose I offered you a 2-pounder Mk. Any gun potent enough to pen has a higher tier MM, it would be a Matilda on roids. And this is also valid for the other tanks. I would of course, like a Valentine with a 6-pounder, but for that I'm awaiting the English version; even if it gets no PMM.

Except the KV-2 with mm gun, which does a lot of HE splash damage. Personally I like the idea of tanks sticking with their less potent guns to get better matchmaking. A tier VI with top gun can pen it, but will have a nice chance to meet tier IX. Like the guy with 12, games in his T No need for premium account or gold at Tier 4. Also, fighting higher tier enemies means opportunity to earn more XP.

I suspect that with my system, only those who upgrade their gun will be able to get Ace Mastery badge. Those who stick with the stock guns won't earn enough XP for gold badge. Those players who don't convert gold to gain free XP would find that grinding a tier 9 tank takes forever! Community Forum Software by IP. This would give some tanks preferential matchmaking and that is something that only certain premium tanks get. MM is fine as it is, just know your role for each scenario. This gun matchmaking idea is based on the preferential matchmaking of the premium tanks.

A Edited by romsitsa, 02 September - Sorry, but this is total bullshit. Every tank has pros and cons, its not only about gun Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Android 6. Folahan76 8 Posted 02 September - That's fine with me. Or a KV-4 with the DT? You all just forgetting one thing: It is to make money. How you gonna force people to pay money, convert gold to free exp, if they're comfortable with stock tank? Do you really still not understand that?

Battles happen in 11 possible Battle Tiers (BT), and are not to be scout matchmaking for light tanks in the "Default MM Battle Tiers". Been tracking my matchmaking for some time now. TOTALLY Tier 8 is the worst, at least 50% of games are bottom tier, most times around 70%.

The matchmaker finds a team for players who enter the Random Battle queue. In doing so, several requirements must be met: Another important factor is keeping the queue wait time as small as possible. When creating a battle, the matchmaker first looks to place eligible large Platoons players , followed by artillery and then light tanks with scout matchmaking. After this criterion is met, other players are selected to fill the remaining positions, keeping the team's weight balanced as closely as possible.

Wot preferential matchmaking chart Yet we were working in it was awash in our faith in certain battles.

Team selection for random battles is done according to several parameters. Each battle takes place in a battle tier , which should not be confused with tank tiers.

The composition of tanks in each team is a task of matchmaker. It works in following manner. It takes one tank from the queue and looks at his tier. For example it is IS - russian heavy with tier 7. The matchmaker takes the corresponding line from the table below and sees that the IS has battle tiers from 7 till 9. Randomly is the tier for battle selected. In our example let it be 8 from 7 to 9 incl. The matchmaker takes tanks from queue, which can participate in tier 8 battles see column number 8 in the table and puts them in 2 teams.

Wargaming has been tweaking the matchmaking system in World of Tanks for years , and the latest iteration is due to go online today.

Matchmaking is a joke. Game is totally screwed up

Update on the proposed preferential MM tank changes that were first talked about with the testing of a changed KV-5 some months ago. From here on out this comes from the WG portal:. The fixes described below are not final. This past May saw us test changes to the KV Had they proven agreeable, they would have been applied to other preferential tanks. As the feedback and testing showed, the reason you take these tanks into battle or bring them into your garage in the first place is their preferential status and unique characteristics. In response to your comments, we went back to the drawing board to work on another round of adjustments. We originally set these parameters so that these tanks can play comfortably and competitively in Tier VIII-IX battles, where they are weaker than other machines in combat given their stats. With this in mind, at Tier X, these tanks would be ineffective which is why they have preferential matchmaking. We will definitely look at their stats to ensure their effectiveness is comparable with the performance of Tier VIIIs and so can remain competitive in those battles.

Matchmaking in WoT

I got a feeling that I'm playing too many times against stronger tanks. I have 21k battles. I am familiar with official site about matchmaker: That is your only hope at the moment it seems, apart from maybe playing in other tiers which are more MM friendly, such as 7 and 9 or perhaps some lower ones. The fact that Tier 8 MM sucks has been known for a long time though, doesn't seem like WG cares too much about this issue. They take forever to decide to fix things, then take forever to fix them.

After a huge number of tests, both open and closed, and an especially successful open test in the European region, we are ready to launch the new matchmaker globally. On 3 April , you'll be able to fully appreciate how the updated matchmaker changes battles quality for the better and makes World of Tanks more enjoyable than ever! Let us briefly recall how the improved matchmaker will now assemble battles. Our main goals are: We'll achieve these goals by adding dynamic templates that can quickly adapt to the queue evolution, for both two-tier and three-tier battles. Here is a preliminary list of dynamic templates, which we're introducing: The and the systems are also possible, but you'll face them less frequently — for example, if the queue structure is non-standard.

This allows us to get the best and most accurate results. If you're wondering how this will affect your game experience, it's pretty simple. These introductions will reduce the number of battles you have to play against higher tiers. Same-tier battles in particular, will become more frequent, as you can see below. To resolve these issues, we plan on introducing dynamic templates , allowing us to use the following match-ups:. Share on social networks or discuss on the forum.
