Hull Live reporter Anna Riley shared her experiences of trying to strike up friendships after moving to the city. Is it just me, or is it really hard to make friends as a grown up? Then when you get to secondary school, it's even easier to make friends with a wider pool of classmates and even more activities on offer that encourage bonding. My teenage years were filled with friendships easily made and some better off forgotten , and I was full of energy and enthusiasm to hang out with people my age, as well as mixing with peers from other colleges or towns at parties, along with my own close friendship group. It seemed if you weren't a chav, you were a mosher, and me and the other 'moshers' had a great time together at school, when we weren't listening to punk rock and, guys included, painting our nails black, that is. But like many people, despite the amazing memories I made with them growing up, I drifted apart with the friends that I'd made at high school and college when we all went to different universities. We were more concerned with making new pals in the respective cities we had moved to, and only met up in the summer when we came back home.
