should the vacuum hose for the transmission actuator connect at the manifold? EPS manifold, Holley , TH trans (rebuilt w/shift kit), posi. and the other is for the Vacuum Modulator on the transmission. I put a / combo in my 56 chevy. I now need to hook up the line for the tranny vacuum modulator. So I thought I would run a hard line with.

Wouldn't the rod and stainless steel, if you hook up; model. Can find single spade connector just above the carb or a powerglide without the ailing th modulator hook up the th is.

View Full Version: TH expert advice needed. My Son has a th behind the Olds in his rpu and I am not sure we have the vacuum line for the modulator hooked up to the right source. The transmission shop told us that there should be suction at idle but it should drop off as you accelerate, and I think we have just the opposite. The problem is that the intake manifold on the motor is a W30 Tripower intake that was used only on 4 speed Oldsmobiles so there is no port on the intake where you can hook up the modulator. So we took a plug out of the rear 2 barrel carb at the base and put a threaded barb in there and hooked the modulator to that.

I recently bought a T-bucket with a Chevy and TH tranny. Does this trans need a kickdown cable or TV cable? Many old-school automatic transmissions use both a governor and a vacuum modulator to help regulate automatic shift timing. The governor works off of vehicle speed and engine rpm. Higher pressures will cause the trans to shift automatically to a higher gear. But there are some situations where engine vacuum engine load may not correlate directly to speed and rpm.

I have used different size ID hose and had no changes as long as ya get it sealed up with no vacuum leaks! I line to bend solid line and use a short hose at th connection. Just my 2 cents worth.
