November Since Oct 28, I have not been able to connect to a BF1 multiplayer game. Everytime after I login I get and click on quickmatch, server browser, or operations I get "matchmaking failed an unknown error has occurred". I have reset my xbox, reinstalled the game, and reset my modem with no luck. BF4 works fine for me along with other multiplayer games.

Fail matchmaking again...

Matchmaking is typically a vitally important part of any online game, and World of Tanks is no exception. Since the initial game release, players have been both critical and complimentary of the matchmaker, and as a result it has changed greatly over the years. From Tier 6 vehicles being able to meet Tier 10s, to Random Battles with 15 vs 15 Artillery pieces, I think we can all agree the Matchmaker has progressed massively in terms of balance. That being said, nothing is perfect and Wargaming have recently tried to polish their Matchmaker further in Update 9. As is to be expected, the community is once again split between a love for the new Matchmaker, and not so much. To remain relevant at lower Tiers, act as a Support Gun. First of all I should explain what Wargaming actually changed in Update 9. Arguably the most significant change was to how teams are compiled regarding their Tiers. What this meant was if there were a lot of Tier 8s in the Matchmaking queue, for example, then games would primarily consist of Tier 8s. Another significant change was to how players could form platoons with each other.

Sometimes you can count the healers. Really it comes down the specs and HP pools on both sides.

In the queue, the matchmaking system divides the waiting players into teams as quickly as possible. There are currently two game modes in World of Tanks Blitz:

World of Tanks Update Fixes Issues In Matchmaking

I've noticed a sudden uptick in the number of so-called "Fail Divisions"- a division where one or more members are at least a tier below what would normally be in the match. Granted, with the release of British battleships we're going to see a lot of new players, but neither they nor the playerbase as a whole are served best by the way current MM handle platoon matchmaking- being a Tier III or IV in a Tier VII match is daunting and leads to a bad player experience for the Fail Divisioner, and leads to a team imbalance which affects the other players on the team negatively, leading to people TKing, or higher-tier players simply leaving the match. World of Tanks grappled with the same issue for several years- for a while they refused to budge on it in the interest of allowing people to platoon with whoever they want, with whatever tanks they want. However after time they realized the benefit of allowing players such freedom to platoon as they liked was not in line with the pitfalls of allowing unrestricted platooning. Initially they simply penalized the platoons experience and credits for having mismatched tiers, however this still lead to problems and eventually they restricted MM to allow only players of the same tier. It more or less worked- fail platoons disappeared and nobody really complained.

Creative Assembly have just announced that Total War: Arena will be shutting its doors for good after just one year on the market, having failed to fulfill the company's expectations. There's free gifts involved too, if you're interested. According to the announcement, the game failed to meet the expectations of both Creative Assembly and Wargaming, prompting them to pull the plug. Today's patch will be the last one and the game will be shutting down on 22 February at Of course, there's still a few months to go until then but Total War:

Wargaming announced the update that will fix many issues players were experiencing in World of Tanks. The changes are focused on some vehicle rebalances and matchmaker improvements. While Wargaming was trying to fix some issues in World of Tanks since May, the problems continued to persist. That update will be active soon to see if this is the final fix the game requires. The vehicle rebalances are the first issue Wargaming addressed.
